ROY GIMÉNEZ JUNCOSA
Born in 1979 in Argentina (Rosario), raised in Barcelona and based in Tenerife, his experience dates back to 1998, where he began his artistic journey through a large number of places, including trips to Venezuela and Kenya, as well as performances throughout Spain, including Barcelona, Ibiza, Mallorca, León, Valladolid and all the Canary Islands, where he currently directs the batucada Tambawa Percusión, a group that offers Afro percussion shows, songs and African dance, as well as performing Brazilian rhythms with their batucada.
In addition to working in academies in Tenerife giving percussion classes and workshops, Roy directs the batucada of the Bahitiare Bahia Comparsa, in the framework of the Tenerife carnival, which in the last two years has won first and second prize, respectively, in the Ritmo y Armonía (Manuel Monzón) competition.
Currently, he is also a member of the group Calle Viana, with various percussion instruments, and the fusion of this group with Tambawa Percusión, in which he offers a show with African music, rumba and flamenco, one of his specialities with music is to mix African and Brazilian percussion in the same show, he has studied with various masters of the African and Brazilian world and is constantly training to be able to continue giving the best of himself in each show.
MELIANE
A dancer of African dance. She was born in Dakkar, capital of Senegal in 1969.
Her career dates back to 1984, when she started dancing at the age of 14.
She has travelled to many exotic places around the world. Some of the places he has taken his dance to are: Switzerland, Marbella, Mallorca, Austria, Yugoslavia, Albania, Italy and among all the Canary Islands, highlighting Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
In the middle of her journey she decided to take a break to take care of her children when they were young, but once they have grown up, she has taken up again what she considers her great passion: dance in general and African dance in particular.
MATY ROMANI
Musician, Percussionist and cultural transmitter, Born in the city of Mar del Plata (Argentina).
Musical Curious for the History and development of world folklores, his musical career and study began in 2006 where he discovered Northwest African Culture, everything related to instruments (Djembe, Dundun, Kenkeni Sanbang, Balafon Y krin).
In parallel, he trained in different carnival styles such as Batucada, Murga and Uruguayan style Candombe where he developed the instruments of each style, being the percussion director of different groups.
In 2015 you start his travels through the countries Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. In them he goes to the important places where these rhythms and dances have been given such as Chincha in Peru where he learns to play the Cajon and the Colombian Pacific and Atlantic where he learns to play both the Marimba and the typical instruments of Cumbia such as Alegre, Llamador , tambora and maracas.
In 2018 he traveled to Guinea and was able to delve into what he had been carrying for so long, having the possibility of spending 5 months, in the capital Conakry as well as in the interior of this country such as Kourrousa.
As a Cultural Transmitter he travels through different countries of the world, such as different Argentine provinces, as in South America he gives classes in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, as in Europe in Italy and Spain.
He currently resides in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where the Mundo Berebere Canarias School of Folkloric Arts is Developed, where he develops classes and intensives on the history, dance, melody and percussion of Africa and Latin America together with other teachers from the island and Spain.
We reveal the first master who will be with us on September 15th, a day dedicated to African percussion.
PACO CISSOKHO
Multidisciplinary musician.
Born in Senegal. His family is from Mali and they are all artists.
He started playing the djembe with his parents when he was just a child. From that moment on, he embarked on a journey in the world of music as well as numerous trips around the world.
Today he is a versatile artist. He plays African percussion, especially the djembe, as well as the kora, the guitar, the bass, the piano, sings, dances?
He has visited Cape Verde where he is part of the group Lamp Fall, in Gambia he is part of the group Gullivan, in Senegal he is part of the group Ding-Ding Jalo, in Mali he has a family group called Dialicoumda. He has also performed in Guinea and throughout the Canary Islands, especially in Tenerife where he currently lives.

Jair Rezende
Musician and music educator, born in the community of Candeal Pequeño, Salvador - Bahia, a neighbourhood known for its percussionist roots, with Carlinhos Brown and his band Timbalada as its main representatives.
He began his musical career as a child with the band Lactomia, which stands out for its use of instruments made from recycled materials. This work has trained and developed several musicians who now work with national and international artists.
He brings together the talents of an educator and the qualities of a leader, being responsible for selecting, directing and producing various works, including groups such as "Arrastão da Timbalada", "Zárabe", "Groovelândia" and "Orquestra Pracatum", among others.
He is currently the musical director of the street percussion groups Timbalada and Zárabe, which can have between 300 and 400 percussionists.
He is currently a percussion teacher at the Pracatum School and a teacher of percussion and musical initiation at the Lactomia Social Action Association. He is also the general director of ALAS - Asociación de Acción Social Lactomia.

The groups that want to continue to join our festival will have to look for accommodation on their own in hostels, hostels, flats, hotels or other options, as well as we take this opportunity to inform you that there are only 3 places left to COMPLETE THE FULL SIZE OF REGISTRATIONS OF PARTICIPATING GROUPS for this next edition.

Mestre Memeu, comes from Salvador de Bahia (Brazil), specifically from the city of Pelourinho, and entered the world of percussion in 1984, through the project "RUFAR DOS TAMBORES" of Neguinho do samba (creator of samba reggae and first mestre of Olodum) and is currently the main percussion mestre of the Olodum band.
Every year at the carnival Memeu is in charge of the musical command of a band composed of 120 musicians, he also leads his own project "A BANDA DO MESTRE MEMEU" with which he conducts workshops in many countries, to bring and show the SAMBA -REGGAE ORIGINAL.
